“In Holy Baptism, we are not merely ‘joining the Church,’ nor are we merely ‘washing away our sins.’ Holy Baptism is not a rite of membership. Rather, Holy Baptism is being plunged into the death of Christ (Romans 6:3) and raised into the likeness of Christ’s resurrection. Believers are given a Cross to wear as part of their Baptism – a token to remind us that our new life is nothing other than living in union with the Crucified Christ.”

God bless you and thank you for reaching out to me, friend. 🙏
Unfortunately, I must say that I cannot and will not participate in the evangelizing of the idea that faith alone can fulfill the function of a hand that lays hold on the righteousness which is in Christ. we believe that it is not the correlative of faith, but the faith which is in us, justifies through works, with Christ. We regard works not as witnesses certifying our calling, but as being fruits in themselves, through which faith becomes efficacious, and as in themselves meriting, through the Divine promises [cf. 2 Corinthians 5:10] that each of the Faithful may receive what is done through his own body, whether it be good or bad. [St Cyril Lukaris & St Dositheus]
“I set forth my poor judgment not from my own meager understanding, but—hoping in the God of wisdom and Lord, Who grants speech even to irrational beasts for the benefit of His people—I set it forth from His word and from the writings of the God-inspired Fathers, who after an active life left us their teaching as guidance.”
